Shawnee National Forest

Nestled in southern Illinois between the Ohio and Mississippi rivers, the Shawnee National Forest spans 289,000 acres featuring oak-hickory forests, flourishing wetlands, grassy openlands, lush canyons, sheer bluffs and unique geological features. This is a great trail to start the riding season.

The tour completely circles Lake Michigan by following state highways around the lake through Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

The Ozark Mountains

Lincoln Highway

Another historic route, the old Lincoln highway takes travelers through quaint small towns, and fascinating historic sites. A more manageable route compared to Historic Route 66, the 30-mile Lincoln highway is a more relaxed, straightway cruise through Iowa’s farmland. In its heyday, the highway once ran all the way from New York to San Francisco, spanning a total of 14 states.
