What are the requirements to rent a motorcycle from Affitto?

Renters must be at least 23 years old, possess a valid motorcycle license (or equivalent endorsement) from their state or country, and pay the rental charges.

Do I need insurance to rent a motorcycle?

Yes, you are required to have valid motorcycle insurance. You can either use your own insurance coverage that extends to rentals or purchase insurance through us at the time of rental.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance will be refunded 100% with no service charge. Cancellations made less than 24 hours of reservation are subject to a $60 service charge. Please refer to the terms and conditions outlined during the booking process

Do you require a security deposit?

Yes, a security hold is required at the time of rental. We will put a hold charge of $200 on your card at the time of booking. This amount will be released upon the safe return of the vehicle in its original condition.

Rental Experience

Are there any mileage restrictions?

Our standard rentals come with a 150 mileage allowance per day (Horizon Club Gold Members are given 300 mileage allowance per day). An additional fee of $0.30 is charged for each mile over the allowance unless you purchase the Unlimited Miles option.

Can I rent a motorcycle for a day, a weekend, or longer?

Yes, we offer flexible rental durations to suit your needs, from single-day rentals to multi-day and weekly options

Do you offer one-way rentals?

Currently, we primarily offer round-trip rentals from our Chicago location. Please contact us if you have a specific one-way rental request, and we'll see if we can accommodate it.

How do the discounts provided through membership of the Horizon Club work with multi-day discounts?

The discounts provided by the membership plan you are subscribed to are combined with the multi-day discounts you may be eligible for. For example, if you are subscribed to our Horizon Club Silver plan which offers 20% discount off rental rates, and you are planning to rent a bike for 6 days, which makes you eligible for a 20% discount regardless of your membership status, you would receive a combined 40% discount for this rental trip

Claims & Accidents

What should I do in case of damage or accident while driving an Affitto vehicle?

First, ensure you are safe and contact the police (911). Contact us at (312) 725-9016, and provide the following details of the damage/accident: 

  • Date and time of the incident
  • Description of the incident
  • Description of damages
  • Location of incident
  • Any other property or vehicles involved in the incident
  • Any other parties involved in the incident

Then contact your personal auto insurance company and establish a claim for damage (Note: This step is not necessary If you bought insurance through our us).

Additionally, please provide the other party's contact information if available, as we will pursue them and/or their insurance company for our damages if determined they were at fault. However, our pursuit of the other party does not absolve you from your contractual obligation with Affitto. Ultimately, the renter is responsible for any and all loss of or damage to the bike resulting from any cause including but not limited to collision, rollover, theft, tire damage and vandalism, medical condition, flood, fire, hail or other acts of Nature.

What is the typical timeline for processing a damage claim?

When a vehicle is involved in an accident you can typically expect to hear from Affitto within a 30 day time-frame from the date of the incident. The time-frame heavily depends on the type and amount of damage the vehicle endured as a result of the incident.

How can I pay for the damage I caused?

Once the cost of the damage is determined, we will send you a bill via email which will contain link for you to set up payment
